In our delicious Acacia Honey, you will experience the delicate flavour of spring, made from the nectar of white-flowering acacia trees. Its light, amber-yellow colour and sweetly mild taste make it a popular accompaniment to a multitude of dishes and drinks. Whether for sweetening quark, fruit salad, muesli or tea – our Acacia Honey lends your favourite dishes a characteristic, unique flavour. The flowering period of acacia trees is short and supply can quickly become scarce, particularly when the weather conditions are not ideal.

The acacia belongs to the legume family. It is characterised by its distinctive white flowers and usually blooms in spring. This not only looks beautiful, but is also an important source of food for bees. They collect the nectar and process it into a delicious honey that is appreciated for its sweetly mild flavour. The acacia is known for its short flowering period, which only lasts around 10 days, thereby limiting the harvest time for acacia honey.

The history of honey

Honey has been harvested all over the world for thousands of years. We know that as far back as the Stone Age, “honey hunters” in what is now Spain appreciated the value of honey; in Egypt, honey was placed in the tombs of the pharaohs. The history of professional beekeeping, however, began much later.
