The honeydew of this rare Fir Honey is collected from vast coniferous forests of Norway spruce and silver fir. This dark-brown-to-black honeydew honey is a delight for honey lovers who appreciate its resinous-savory flavour, for example on fine white bread. This brings out the unique flavour particularly intensely. The secret of Fir Honey is its special origin: It does not come from the familiar flower nectar, but is created by thickening honeydew, the sweet sap from the sieve tubes of the fir trees, which the bees refine.

Rich in flavours and with a wonderfully resinous note, this honey is a natural product that encapsulates the essence of the forest and will delight you.

Fir trees, members of the Pinaceae family, are impressive trees. Depending on the species, they can reach an imposing height of up to 70 metres and are known to live for a very long time – some specimens can live for over a thousand years. Their needles are usually thin, flat and pointed, and they remain green all year round, which gives them their characteristic appearance. Large forests with many fir trees are somewhat seldom, which makes the precious Fir Honey a real rarity.
