German Honey from Various Regions

From which region does the best German honey originate? Find out on a journey around the dining table with our delicacies from various regions of Germany. Climate and flora make each region unique and, in a similar way to wine, characterise the flavour of the honeys produced there. For example, the image of picturesque rapeseed fields and lush dykes conveys the typical atmosphere of Northern Germany – and this atmosphere can be tasted. The idyll of Bavaria, in contrast, is characterised by deep forests, expansive meadows and clear mountain streams. Both regions are individually represented in our special honeys. Through gentle, homogeneous stirring of the honey, we achieve a particularly creamy consistency in both varieties.

Regional Honey

A honey may only be named after a region if it contains components of the flora of that particular region. A pollen analysis provides proof of this. It is possible to harvest regional honeys because honey, as a purely natural product, is always created through the substances collected from the local flora. The worker bees of our beekeepers fly a maximum of three kilometres away from their hives and, consequently, remain regionally connected. This is a benefit for honey connoisseurs, who can enjoy the specific flavour.

The secret of honey consistency

The consistency of honey is the result of a unique mixture of natural sugars in the nectar. With a higher proportion of fructose, honey remains liquid for a long time, whilst a higher proportion of glucose allows it to become creamy more quickly. Both types of honey have their own advantages when it comes to enjoyment.
